Doylestown HARB and Historic District Roofing
Doylestown Borough has a Historic District. It has a board called the Historic Architectural Review Board, or HARB.
HARB looks at changes to the outside of buildings in the district. This can include roofs, especially work you can see from the street. Here is a plain guide to help you get ready.

The tear-off rule
New roofs cannot be installed over slate, wood shake, asbestos, or clay tile. The old roof must come off first.
